In class we have been working very hard learning our phonic sounds as is on the guidance sent home. We are currently up to the letter sound m.
We have made a short video of the class trying to blend sounds to read words. This is a pre requisite to reading and is a strategy for children to use when stuck with new words!
Please watch the video and spend some ‘homework time’ helping your child develop this skill. All the words we are learning to blend at the moment are CVC words, in other words they are words like c a t, cat. r u n… run, r a t…rat,etc.
